Over the past five years cyclebike have developed the buildabike course in conjunction with An Garda Siochana, Catholic Youth Care, Youth Services Ireland, CDVEC and the Department of Education. The course is an 8 week unit that focuses on the practical elements of bicycle maintenance and repair. The course is designed to encourage an interest in cycling as a sport and covers many of the skills needed to find employment in the cycle industry.

The course is intended for ages 10-17 years and is aimed at early school leavers, youth groups, community projects, transition year students and those whom for whatever reason have found themselves outside mainstream education. We have been running the course all across the country in many locations with a vast range of youths. All courses are run on a not for profit basis, although unavoidably there are costs involved for materials.
