1. Health

The health benefits of cycling are many, both anecdotal and scientifically proven. On average regular cyclists have been proven to be as healthy as someone ten years their junior. It is widely recognised as one of the most complete forms of exercise that is available for a person to partake in. It works all major muscle groups, increasing mental health and well being, whilst also challenging and improving the entire cardio vascular system. Cycling is also incredibly low impact on the body's joints, making it a suitable sport for all ages. The benefits of cycling can be achieved with a minimum commitment: on average 30 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week can change your life!

2. Costs

In these times of recession cycling is an obvious money saving choice. When you look at spiraling fuel costs and the cost of purchasing and maintaining motor transport it simply makes sense to cycle. We have estimated an average of approx €5000 can be spent annually running a car (insurance, road tax, maintenance and fuel - not including purchase price!). Comparatively an average spend on a good bike and equipment might run at only €700. There is also a remarkable benefit in terms of your personal productivity. Arriving at your destination after a 20 minute cycle will leave you feeling wide awake, refreshed and ready to face any challenge your day has to offer. You will notice a great increase in your day to day energy levels and will find yourself performing all of life's tasks to a higher standard.

3. Personal

Cycling regularly will allow your body to release endorphins into your blood stream. Endorphins are nature's ultimate feel good chemical. So even if you have not cycled for years (or ever!) check out our beginners training programme and let it Begin with the Bike…
